This series is a continuation of the experiment started in ‘Mädchentraum, where needlepoint was introduced to an existing oil painting from 20215.

This series serves to deepen the understanding of fusing two different art crafts together and to create a meaningful dialogue through this very constellation, where both crafts have equal standing without competing with one another.

All works are a fusion of needlepoint and pencil, oil painting or printing technique, including some machine sewing. Size: A3 (30 × 42 cm), 2023 - 2024.

This panting is the first project which experiments with the fusion of fiber craft and oil painting, where needlepoint was stitched directly into an unfinished oil painting from 2015.

Needlepoint serves as the missing link to complete the narrative of the painting.

I stop looking beyond my shrinking universe and am shifting my gaze upon the modest and the ordinary.

Stil lives painted between 2016 and 2019, when I ran out of ideas but still wanted to smell the oil paint and feel the canvas under my brush.

Works, depicting various displays of male strength and power, in my two homes, the United States and Switzerland. The main focus of these works was composition and the depiction of similarities between two very different cultures.

Quiet observation of a natural occurrence which is interupting the ordinary and predictable rhythm of life and through this interruption is allowing us to time travel into a time when a simple and natural occurrence still had the magic power to enchant us and to create a feeling of absolute bliss.
